Matt completed a Graphic Design Diploma at Monash University where he majored in photography, a passion he continues. From his love of photography and imagery Matt started directing commercials. His work is recognised for its international look and his eye for what’s fashionable and original.

He has directed commercials for most international agencies, shooting high-end commercials in Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, Mexico, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Egypt, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, India, China and the U.S.A., and has worked with international clients worldwide.

Along the way he has picked up many awards: Best of Bates, MADC Awards and numerous short film awards. He recently won Silver at the Global Summit Creative Awards in the U.S.A. from some 3000 entries worldwide, with his spot for Circus Oz and was a Finalist (for the 2nd time) at the New York Festival with his Bii spot. His recent POSB “Every day Credit” film won a Bomb Award (Best of Bates). His designs for 2dx, Melbourne Central, HWT and his photographs have been featured in DeskTop Magazine.

He has made over 10 short films - some of these now in the National archive -over 150 television commercials and many music videos for artists such as Blow, The Go-Betweens, Magnetic, Horsehead, Little Murders, Lief and Bamboo. He has also directed the prestigious Melbourne International Film Festival trailers on 2 occasions

Matt continues to exhibit and sell his photographs accepting the occasional commission.

Now working freelance Matt continues to film around the globe.
